2014 Last-Minute Summer Camp Guide

School’s out, the kids are home, and you’ve yet to make plans for the summer. Ring a bell? If so, don’t fret. There are still camps out there that are accepting last-minute registration.

And what a line-up of activities. From scouting to outdoor excursions to swimming lessons, area camps still have a lot to offer Conejo Valley campers.

CAMP AGOURA HILLS

Camp Agoura HillsCamp Agoura Hills is back for another summer of sports, activities and adventure for kids between the ages of 5 and 10 years old. The city’s department of parks and recreation offers Tiny Tot Camp (ages 3-5), Agoura Sports & Adventure Camp (ages 7-13), Rec Club (ages 5-10) and Rec Club on the Go (ages 5-10) in both half and full day sessions. There are also 13 specialty camps for ages 5-14 that include such fun themes as Minecraft Movie-making, Marine Biology and Secret Agent Camp.

The sessions run from June 16 through August 15 and kids can choose from a variety of activities within in session.

The camps run anywhere from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.,  and there are half-day and full day options. Prices vary per program. To learn more and to sign up, click here or call 818-597-7361.

CAMP KINNERET in Agoura Hills

Camp Kinneret SwimmingFounded in 1954, Camp Kinneret is a loving community rooted in tradition and is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA) and a member of the Western Association of Independent Camps.

The focus on relationships and providing children with opportunities to learn, grow and discover themselves is at the heart of the Camp Kinneret philosophy.

Activities include swimming, archery, beach excursions, arts & crafts, cooking, leadership programs and so much more.

There are two camp sessions to choose from. Session One, which is five weeks long, runs June 16-July 18. Session Two, four weeks long, runs July 21-August 15. Children can choose from two to five day a week combinations and can also select specific camp sessions to attend. Prices vary depending upon length of stay. For more information, click here.

CAMP CONEJO in Thousand Oaks

Camp ConejoCamp Conejo is a summer opportunity for boys and girls either in various stages of their scouting career or non scouts to earn badges towards the level that they will be in the fall of 2014. The badges are as follows:
