Amy Fein, from Westlake Village, was out on her boat when she reportedly noticed something unusual moving in the water below. “At first I figured it was a duck, which I’m used to seeing, but when I really looked, I was shocked,” she said. Stopping to investigate, she discovered it was an alligator.
Local alligator sitings are extremely rare, but similar circumstances have been reported in both 2010 and 2008. Crocodiles and alligators, of course, are not native to Westlake Village, preferring tropical climates. Some locals are theorizing that a local pet is on the loose.
