Bookworms gathered from both San Fernando and Conejo Valley to help kick off Agoura Hills’s One City One Book program featuring Agoura Hills resident and bestselling author Lori Lansen who previewed her upcoming book The Mountain Story.

Lansens read excerpts from her her novel, a survival tale taking place in the mountains above Palm Springs. She discussed the writing process with the audience and fielded questions about her other bestselling books that include Rush Home Road and The Girls.
A native of Ontario, Canada, she said that she relocated to the area because of her husband’s work as a director. “When he asked people who worked in the industry where the best place was to move his family, they all told him the same thing,” she said. “Calabasas, Agoura Hills, Westlake Village or Thousand Oaks, and we decided on Agoura Hills. We just love it.”
The Mountain Story will be released later this month by Simon & Schuster and the city is hosting a book launch party on June 25, along with other events for all ages. Visit 91301.org for more information on all OCOB events.
