What qualifies as a memorable vacation? Most people look for an affordable way to getaway from routine and a chance to experience new sights. This summer, ‘Hit the Movie Trail’ with author Brian Rooney on a fun and fact-filled 90 minute walking tour to some of the most famous filming locations in Malibu Creek State Park. On Father’s Day, June 15, grab your favorite guy and a picnic for an evening of legendary Beatle tunes with Yesterday, a tribute to the Beatles. Agoura Hills offers outdoor concerts throughout the summer with a lineup of legendary bands and tributes. Food trucks with great meal deals will be on site along with a kids’ zone. Interested in finding your inner Zen, artist or athlete? June is the time to sign up for a great selection of affordable recreation classes–yoga, painting, Zumba, golf, tennis, and many more–offered by the Department of Recreation. Did you know the state’s first winemaking region was southern California? You don’t have to spend hours in the car to enjoy wine country. Tucked in the Santa Monica Mountains, Malibu Family Wines is a noted local vintner featuring a scenic tasting garden that has become a chic destination. Find your summer read at the Agoura Hills Book Cellar. This local treasure has been voted “Best Of…” in editions by “LA Weekly.” Spend a day treasure hunting the shelves of unusual and bargain books.
