Dirty Rice

This year’s 32nd Annual California Strawberry Festival May 16 & 17 in Oxnard, hits all the right notes with the Grammy award-winning “Mariachi Divas” headlining an array of talented artists offering non-stop entertainment on two Festival stages.

Musical styles range from classic rock, top 40 favorites, and R & B, to pop, jazz, Latin, and country, with tributes from the Beatles, Neil Diamond and Elvis. Back by popular demand, Ventura County’s own “Dirty Rice,” is guaranteed to energize the crowd with their show-stopping world beats.

When attendees need a break from dancing, they can visit a variety of 50 food booths serving up a sweet palate of berry treats like strawberry funnel cake, strawberry pizza, deep fried strawberries, strawberry shortcake, chocolate dipped strawberries and even strawberry beer. Sales proceeds benefit 20+ local charities.

Held on 15 pristine acres at the Strawberry Meadows (3250 South Rose Avenue, Oxnard), festival hours are 10 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Admission prices range from $5 to $12. A free express shuttle service runs from multiple convenient locations off the 101 freeway to make getting there easy, saving $10 on parking. Call toll free 1-888-288-9242 or visit www.strawberry-fest.org for advance tickets and more information.
