#BreastCar Pink Tesla at Westfield Topanga Mother’s Day Weekend for Breast Cancer Research

May 8, 2015 @ 10:00 am - 8:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

(5/3/15) Santa Monica, CA – Westfied Topanga has announced that #BreastCar, a PINK Tesla raising awareness and money for Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation’s innovative programs focused on breast cancer, will be featured on the floor of the mall in the highest profile real estate of “The Canyon,” outside from the Apple Store, Burberry & CPK.  From Friday morning, May 8th through Sunday night on Mother’s Day, see, sign, and take a Selfie with #BreastCar.  Brainchild of Woodland Hills-based OB/GYN and Agoura Hills resident Dr. Ian Taras, @BreastCar (Facebook) will be making appearances around Los Angeles now through the end of June, accepting donations for the chance to sign the car.  Actress, author and mom, Candace Cameron Bure said, “I love my doctor!! Join Dr. Taras in raising funds for breast cancer research at BreastCar.com.”  She has over 10,000 ‘likes’ on her Instagram photo with @BreastCar (Instagram) and over 120,000 views of her Facebook video with BreastCar!

Ian Taras, MD, is on board for Walk with Love 2015. Dr. Taras’ mother was diagnosed with breast cancer at 47. When Dr. Taras and his sister discovered they carry the BRCA gene mutation, his sister had a prophylactic mastectomy to reduce her risk of breast and ovarian cancer. For the past dozen years, the Woodland Hills gynecologist and philanthropist Dr. Taras and his team have raised over $600,000 for research into women’s cancers.  Last year they raised $50,000 and this year alone they hope to raise $100,000!

Taras, who carries the BRCA gene mutation, is Honorary Chair of Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation’s annual signature 5K walk/run, Walk with Love, 5/17/15. “A PINK Tesla is pretty hard to miss,” said Taras. “Wrapping the car is symbolic of our need to focus more funding and effort on stopping breast cancer before it starts. It’s also about getting more people to take action—by doing things like making a donation and signing the car, by participating in research like Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation’s Health of Women (HOW) Study™ or through their Army of Women®, or by forming a team themselves and fundraising for Walk with Love.”

Members of the public are invited to take photographs with @BreastCar (Twitter), write messages of hope or encouragement, dedications to loved ones, or simply sign their names to BreastCar.com.
