‘Celebrando Mexico!,’ Thousand Oaks Reads Kick-off Event at Thousand Oaks Library

October 4, 2015 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Join us on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 3 p.m. when Thousand Oaks Library kicks-off the 2015 Thousand Oaks Reads One City One Book programming with a very special event, “Celebrando Mexico!” featuring the Ballet Folklorico Mestizo from Oxnard College and Mariachi Aguilas de Oxnard. Enjoy the exuberant music and dance traditions of Mexico in this free, family event at the main library sponsored by the Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library.

Special programs continue throughout the month of October and the first two weeks of November at both libraries culminating in the author event, “An Afternoon with Cristina Henrίquez” on Sunday, November 8 at 3 pm at the Civic Arts Plaza. Ms. Henrίquez’s beautifully crafted novel, The Book of Unknown Americans, is the 2015 Thousand Oaks Reads: One City One Book selection.
