Cal Lutheran to present the absurdist play Chamber Music. Free stagings slated Oct. 7-10 in Preus-Brandt Forum. The California Lutheran University Theatre Arts Department is presenting an absurdist one-act play set in an insane asylum in October.

Chamber Music will be staged at 9 p.m. from Wednesday, Oct. 7, through Saturday, Oct. 10, in Preus-Brandt Forum on the Thousand Oaks campus. Admission is free.

The play by Arthur Kopit is set in 1938, the year after aviator Amelia Earhart disappeared. Earhart and seven other famous women from different historical periods including Joan of Arc, Queen Isabella I of Spain, Susan B. Anthony and Gertrude Stein appear to be interned in an insane asylum. Fearing an attack by the men’s ward, the women come together to figure out how to stop it from happening.

Preus-Brandt Forum is located at 135 Chapel Lane. For more information, call 805-493-3415.
