Buff Bones® Program licensed instructor Aggie Winston launched the only medically endorsed “bone health specific” exercise program in the area one year ago at the newly constructed Agoura Hills Recreation & Event Center. Buff Bones® is a pilates based mat program using bone strengthening techniques to provide a safe workout for people who have or want to prevent bone loss. For questions about the Buff Bones® programs, please visit www.bodysolveit.com or call Aggie Winston, Body Solve It Studio, (805)768-4711.
Since January 2015, the program has expanded to the Thousand Oaks Senior Goebel Center with Buff Bones® licensed instructor, Lisa Levinson. Levinson is also offering Bone Health 101 on Saturday, March 12 from 1pm-4pm at the Thousand Oaks Senior Goebel Center.
“It’s life saving information because 52 million Americans have osteoporosis. I am so thankful that the Agoura Hills Recreation staff realized this was an important class to bring to their expanded facility. They took the lead to bring a medically endorsed “bone health specific” exercise program which has now become a world wide effort to say “bone health is in”,” explained Winston.
The February 27, Saturday morning event in Agoura will feature a lecture by author of the book Bone Health Made Easy. Dr. Ken Howayeck will share his knowledge about preventing bone loss along with ultra sound bone screenings for $20.
The event includes “bone friendly” nutrition information including healthy recipes offered by professional chef, Hagit Hammer, Founder and Director of Kitchen Rejuvenation. Chef Hagit also currently teaches organic cooking nutritional classes for Whole Foods in the San Fernando Valley.
A 30 minute Buff Bones® workout conducted by Aggie Winston and Lisa Levinson will follow the lectures. Participants may observe the class if they choose. Registration for current Buff Bones® classes are available now through May 25th on Monday and Wednesday from 11:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Register for a series or individual classes online at www.agourahillsrec.org.
