Drumming Rhythm Evolution at Thousand Oaks Library

January 24, 2016 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Entertainer Louie Cruz Beltran will present Drumming Rhythm Evolution on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016 at 3 p.m. Bring the family for this special interactive solo percussion presentation demonstrating world rhythms and their evolution from Africa to today’s music with entertainer Louis Cruz Beltran. Blending Afro-Cuban rhythms with Jazz, Latin Jazz, Pop and R&B influences, Beltran is an entertainer at heart – an entertainer who is also a superbly skilled conguero, timbalero and vocalist.

“The beauty of Afro-Cuban music stole my heart,” he says. Beltran has performed with musical legends Natalie Cole, Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Poncho Sanchez and artists such as Ray Barretto, Mongo Santamaria, Tito Puente, Francisco Aguabella, and Jorge Claudio and many others.

Both programs are free to the public and will be at the Grant R. Brimhall Library, 1401 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks. For more information call 805-449-2660 or visit www.tolibrary.org
