Senior Concerns Presents Free Seminar on Improving Your Caregiving Experience: Finding the Support You Need

Senior Concerns, as part of its commitment to provide support for family caregivers of aging loved ones, will present a community seminar on “Improving Your Caregiving Experience: Finding the Support You Need,” on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, 5:30-7 p.m. at Senior Concerns, 401 Hodencamp Road, Thousand Oaks.
This seminar will be led by Charna Posin and Sue Lindermann. Charna Posin is Certified Senior Advisor and Patient Advocate at Senior Concerns. Prior to joining Senior Concerns, Charna specialized in disability income benefits. She is also a hospice educator and holds a certificate in Heart Touch, a mindful form of touch therapy based on a profound respect for the physical and psychological needs of the individual. Sue Lindermann facilitates a caregiver support group at the Goebel Senior Adult Center in Thousand Oaks twice a month. She was a founding member of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Ventura County Chapter, and the caregiver for her husband for nearly two decades.
The seminar will help family caregivers learn how to distinguish the difference between being alone and feeling lonely, how to facilitate easier conversations with your loved ones and others, and how, when and where to ask for help to improve the experience of caregiving.
