Sherlock Holmes’ “The Hound of the Baskervilles” Jan 8-30
January 30, 2016 @ 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm
PLOT SUMMARY: Sherlock Holmes’ most spine-chilling mystery is placed in a modern, American setting with suspense, humor, and terror. Mr. Henry is heir to the vast Baskerville fortune, a legacy that comes with a family curse — death at the fangs of a horror that prowls the moor. Only Holmes can stop the beast. While mysterious lights signal Baskerville Hall and the hound terrifies the countryside, the sleuthing begins and suspicion falls on sinister servants, butterfly collectors, ladies in distress, and escaped convicts. Who wrote the letter that summoned the hound? Is Mr. Henry’s romance with the lovely Kathy doomed? Is the supernatural at work? ~Rated PG
The Hound of the Baskervilles director Jeremy Zeller has created a fresh, present-day adaptation of an old classic. Jeremy is thrilled to involve new volunteer members in this production — including a first-time stage manager, lighting designer, prop designer, and costume designer. “I’m so proud of everyone working together incredibly hard to put on a brilliant show,” Jeremy says.
At the heart of Conejo Players Theatre is its volunteer members. Our theatre is unique in the Conejo Valley, as it has operated on a solely volunteer basis since its inception in 1958. There are opportunities to get involved both onstage and behind-the-scenes … acting, directing, producing, stage managing, scenic design and construction, theatrical lighting and sound, costuming, and the list goes on. We’re proud of the dedication of our volunteers, and the services they provide are invaluable to our success.
