Songs of Freedom Performance in Newbury Park
June 18, 2016 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Songs of Freedom, a celebration of peace, freedom, justice and compassion by singer-songwriter Merlin Snider and Pretty Good Acquaintances, will be presented on Saturday, June 18 at 8 p.m. at the Conejo Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Newbury Park.
The program of folk and Americana music will feature both original songs and music from the American songbook that celebrate the heart of what makes Americans one strong people.
Snider, who performs on acoustic guitar, has released two critically acclaimed albums, and he was a Premiere Showcase Artist at the Folk Alliance Region West 2009 conference. He has performed at acoustic venues throughout Southern California. The music blog Wildy’s World wrote that Snider is “about as fine a songwriter and storyteller as you’re likely to find.”
Opening the evening will be Tom Corbett, a mandolin and guitar-playing singer-songwriter who has toured and recorded with some of the best musicians in the folk and roots musical world and has recorded three of his own albums.
Advance tickets are available online at cvuuf.yapsody.com/…/merlin-snider for a suggested donation of $18. Tickets will also be sold at the door, subject to availability.
