High School Teachers Recognized for Their Support of Student Art

Three Conejo Valley high school art teachers will be recognized for their extraordinary personal effort in support of their student’s participation the 2014 Westlake Village Art Guild Student Awards Juried Show. The award will be presented on Tuesday, April 1 at Los Robles Greens Banquet Center (299 S. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks).

Open to high school juniors and seniors, the WVAG’s Student Show attracted a record 403 entries from 147 students representing Oak Park, Thousand Oaks, Agoura Hills, Westlake, Oaks Christian, Newbury Park and Viewpoint respectively. This exceptional level of participation was made possible, in large part, by three teachers whose students represented 70 percent of the entries.

Teachers Anna Lovejoy of Oak Park, Karla Chouhan of Oaks Christian and Eric Lindroth of Newbury Park will each receive the coveted WVAG Special Award which recognizes those community members who have contributed the most to the vitality of the visual arts in the Greater Conejo Valley.

The awards will be presented in conjunction with the Guild’s monthly dinner and art demo featuring Scott Yeskel at approximately 6:45 p.m. Reservations are required for the dinner/demo and can be made by calling 805-379-5655.
