Back for its fourth year, The Event will take place at the Calabasas Tennis and Swim Center on June 6 from 5-11 p.m. All proceeds raised will benefit The Foundation for Las Virgenes Schools, according to Deanna Glassberg, foundation president and event co-chair. “I love The Event because it brings our community together unlike any other event,” she said. “Many of us moved here for the schools and when I see so many parents, community members and local business coming out to support our kids and our schools it warms my heart.”
Over the past three years, the community has raised over $775,000 for The Foundation, and the funds have helped manage class sizes and strengthened the counseling program at all 16 schools in the district.
“This truly amazing night has become the party of the year and features gourmet food and wine tastings, fabulous auctions and a live concert performance,” said Janice Dingman, event co-chair.
Once again, guests will have the opportunity to sample cuisine from such local eateries as Pedalers Fork, Rosti’s, Roy’s, Paul Martin’s and The Six. Participating wineries include Ferrari Carano, Loring, Qupe, Leviathan, Oro Bello, Laurel Glen and Modus Operandi.
New this year will be a live concert performance by Pine Mountain Logs (aka Venice).
The silent auction will feature domestic and international trips, jewelry, wine, sporting events, theme park tickets and more. In the past, the live auction has had concert tickets, a Rolex watch donated by Polacheck’s Jewelers, Oscar party passes, exclusive sporting event packages courtesy of Barry’s Tickets and more. And the night is capped off with a phenomenal live concert experience.
Tables of 10 are currently on sale at which patrons can enjoy the night’s entertainment with fine wine and gourmet cheeses. Glassberg recommends purchasing your tables early as they are expecting another sellout crowd.
General admission tickets provide open festival bleacher seating and will be available on May 1. Visit TheEventParty.org for more information.
