Labor Day Weekend Guide: Chili Cook-Off, A ‘Frozen’ Adventure and The Who Show

So much fun, so little time! Here are our Happening’s picks for the weekend and as always, don’t forget to check out our calendar daily for lots of fresh ideas. 

 

Friday

Malibu Kiwanis Chili Cook-Off: The 34th Anniversary Malibu Kiwanis Chili Cook-Off, Carnival and Fair takes place on Labor Day weekend, September 4th through 7th, 2015 at Civic Center Way and Stuart Ranch Road. Hours are 6-10 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday/Sunday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday.

Marshall Tucker Band at the Canyon Club: The seminal classic rock band we perform at 9 p.m.

Saturday

13th Annual Ventura Nationals Car and Motorcycle Show: The 13th Annual Ventura Nationals Car and Motorcycle Show is planned for Saturday, September 5th at the Ventura County Fairgrounds. Fun all around with car/motorcycle show, live music, vendors, food and more.

Fairy Tales in the Park: The Snow Queen: A Frozen Adventure starts at 11:30 a.m. and runs approx. 45 minutes.

Wild Foods Plant Talk, Walk: Naturalist Christopher Nyerges shows ways for self-reliant living, followed by wild foods plant work. Nyerges will be on-hand to sign books.

Boogie Knights at the Canyon Club: The world’s premier live disco era show band performs at 9 p.m.

 

Sunday

 

Malibu Cars and Coffee Event: The City of Malibu, in partnership with Exclusive Motorcars, Southern California’s top car enthusiasts will enjoy a beautiful drive down the coast to meet at Malibu Bluffs Park, 24250 Pacific Coast Highway, from 7-9 a.m.

Visit Aviation Museum of Santa Paul: Airplane buffs, visit the museum every first Sunday of the month when local aviation history comes alive. Their Chain of Hangars is open for you to explore from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m..

Thousand Oaks Summer Concerts in the Park–The Who Show:The Conejo Recreation & Park District presents its 2015 Summer Concerts in the Park series at Conejo Community Park, 1175 Hendrix Avenue, Thousand Oaks. Concerts are FREE! Bring your blankets and picnic baskets. All concerts begin at 5 p.m.
