(The following is from a press release)
Local YMCAs are hosting spring camps to coincide with school district spring breaks. The Conejo Valley YMCA will host a spring break camp from March 30 to April 3 for Moorpark students and April 6 to April 10 for Conejo Valley students. The Triunfo YMCA, serving Westlake Village, Oak Park and Agoura Hills, is holding its spring camp from April 6 through 10. Camp is available to students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
For students in the Moorpark Unified School District, camp is at the YMCA’s childcare site at Peach Hill Academy (13400 Christian Barrett Rd., Moorpark). Days will be filled with trips to Peach Hill Park, outdoor sports and games and indoor arts and crafts.
For students attending school in the Conejo Valley Unified School District, the camp day will be held at the Conejo Y (4031 N. Moorpark Rd., Thousand Oaks). Campers will swim each day, play team sports, try their hand at archery, go on hikes and do arts and crafts.
The Triunfo YMCA will host its camp at its daycare facility at Willow Elementary School (29026 Laro Dr., Agoura Hills).
Each day of camp will feature a different theme. “Kids will definitely be busy,” says Leona Sandoval, the Conejo Y’s childcare and day camp coordinator. “There will be lots of physical activity as well as time for creativity and learning.”
Extended camp hours are 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Conejo YMCA programs at 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for the Triunfo Y camp. YMCA licensed daycare providers run the camps.
