Welcome to CVH’s Magical History Tour. Each week, we will offer a fascinating look back at our past and explore the history and development of the Conejo Valley.
The film Avalanche was one of the first productions to utilize Paramount Ranch in Agoura Hills. For the movie, a complete western town was constructed. To a casual observer, the set looked genuine, with its saloons, small stores, houses, bank, church, board sidewalks and dusty streets.
Famous western stars like Gary Cooper trod these grounds to make to make films like The Virginian and So Red the Rose.
