Xedo, a nine-year-old male Border Collie mix, was turned into the shelter when his owner could no longer care for him. His history indicates that he was kept outside alone a good portion of the time. If you know anything about his breed, you know how difficult that can be for them.
This holiday season he needs someone who will bring him into their heart and inside their home to keep him safe and warm; someone who will run and play with him, not just toss him outside in the backyard. There will be joy for both of you.
Xedo doesn’t look his age nor does he act like it. He has the energy of a mature Border Collie but a lot more than the typical older dog.
Having been left outside for significant amounts of time, he didn’t get much training, but he can and does learn. Don’t pay attention to the old adage: “You Can’t Teach an Old Dog New Tricks.” He is a very smart dog.
- They are one of the smartest breeds that you can find.
- They have high amounts of energy.
- The way to be able to keep them from misbehaving is to make sure that you mentally and physically stimulate them through exercise.
- They need to release energy to ensure that they are well behaved pets that listen to you
Worried about adopting an older dog? Don’t! Just as a puppy has full life ahead of him, so does Xedo. Since he’s been at the shelter, he visited a private vet for a senior wellness check-up. As expected, all his blood work was normal. The vet said he was good to go!
If you are ready to bring joy into your world (and his) and have the time to spend with Xedo, ask to meet him today.
