Jake is a one-year-old male terrier mix. Little is known about his past because he was transferred from an overcrowded shelter where he was a volunteer favorite but overlooked by the public. In fact, he was so well liked they sent him to Agoura, because they thought he would have a better chance at finding his forever home in the Conejo Valley.
Here are some things you should know about him:
- He is still a puppy and will need some training.
- He walks well on leash.
- He is very interested in exploring his surroundings.
- He has prior eye injury that left him blind in one eye (the cloudy one), but it doesn’t hurt him and does not need any treatment.
He appears anxious in the shelter environment, but that is understandable because there has been so much upheaval in his short life. A first impression is that he is a very quiet, reserved, shy pup, but he is beginning to show bits of his personality. He will need a family who will take it a bit slow and give him the time, love and perseverance he needs to get used to all the new sights, sounds and people in his new house.
If you have the patience to help bring Jake out of his shell, he might become an integrated member of your family. Keep him safe and warm inside and he could be the light of your life, as you will surely be his.
