Luke is a six-year-old Labrador retriever mix who was brought to the shelter when his loving owner suddenly died. It was the only home he had ever known.
He and his buddy, Cliff, came in together and shared the same kennel, seeming to take comfort in one another. Unfortunately, Cliff passed away suddenly over the weekend, leaving Luke to face shelter life all on his own. He appears to be a little subdued but remains the same nice dog as when he entered the shelter system.
Luke is on the big side but is easy going. Here are some things you should know about him:
- He is a very mellow, quiet pup.
- He is housebroken.
- He is good in the car.
- He walks well on leash.
And don’t worry about adopting a middle age dog? Just like a puppy, he has a number of years ahead of him along with the advantage of already knowing how to behave in a home. He is a known quantity and what you see is what you will get.
He is really just what a family needs: A quiet guy who likes to spend time snoozing on his bed when inside, lying in the grass when outside, and ready to go for a walk or ride whenever you are in the mood.
