Shadow is a four-year-old Shepherd/Border Collie/Greyhound mix. If you know anything about some of the breeds that make up Shadow’s mix, you will find that Shadow’s personality shows a bit of each.
You probably can figure out that he is loyal, shows a good amount of smarts, can be a bit high strung, and may need a little extra time to settle in. While most people think of the Shepherd as being fierce or Border Collies as being super smart, what people forget is that going into a new home can be very scary for a dog.
He was adopted from another shelter but, sadly, was turned in at Agoura because he bit his new daddy’s finger. There is no further information available about the situation that caused the incident. However, his former adopter stated that Shadow was good with children.
At the shelter with the volunteers, his behavior is very sweet, and he seems to want nothing more than to be close to people and get lots of attention. He just needs someone to give him a little time, patience and understanding.
Here are some things you should know about Shadow:
- He walks well on leash.
- He behaves well in the car.
- He is choosy about the dogs he meets, so if you have another pup at home, bring him/her in so that they can meet before going to his new home.
Because he came to Agoura from another shelter not much is known about his past. What is certain is that he needs a forever family that will take the time to teach him all the things he needs to learn. He is a quick learner that will bring good times to the right household.
