Shonook is a nine-year-old German shepherd that may not have had an easy life, at least for some of his years. He was kept outdoors much of the time and arrived at the shelter as a vey thin boy. He has an unusual gait due to having weak muscle structure that is believed to have been caused by malnutrition, but he does not appear to be in any pain.
If you know anything about the breed, you know that German shepherds love to be indoors and a part of family life. So it is very hopeful that his forever family will come through the doors very soon. Could that be you?
Here are some things you should know about him:
- He is friendly and easy-going.
- He’s good with dogs of all sizes.
- He is good with children.
- He is partially housebroken.
- He walks well on leash.
- He loves riding in the car.
- He has a luxuriant coat that disguises his thinness.
Don’t be afraid of adopting this older dog. Other than needing to gain some weight, his senior wellness checkup revealed he is in good shape and ready to go.
