Roccos is a six-year-old, male Red Nose Pit Bull. If you were wondering what a Red Nose Pit Bull is, you might think that he is an entirely different breed of dog. The truth is that he’s just one of the many variations of the American Pit Bull Terrier. That’s pretty cool, right?

He and his sibling were purchased from a breeder and then left outside where they weren’t taught much of anything and relied on each other for stimulation.

After six years, the family decided to “downsize” and brought them both to the shelter. In his case, this was probably for the best. Now Roccos has a chance at finding a loving, forever family that will make him an integrated indoor family member. Anyone who knows anything about dogs, especially pit bulls, understands that they do not like to be left alone in a backyard.

Could you be his special person?

Here are some things you should know about him:

  • He loves the attention he gets from the volunteers, and they think he is a great pup, too.
  • He does well when walked on a leash.
  • He is a nice dog but seems intimidated by the loud goings-on at the shelter.
  • When supervised in the real room, he is calm and responsive.
  • He is good when riding in the car.
  • He is a smart boy and can learn anything you are willing to teach him. He is  motivated by treats.

It is unknown whether or not Roccos has been house trained, but he will learn if he hasn’t acquired this skill. The volunteers will loan you a crate and give lots of tips to help make this a success.

If you are planning to keep him outdoors, then he’s not the pup for you. After all, he’s been there and done that! But opening yourself up to a wonderful dog like him, your life will take on new amazing possibilities.

Are you ready to see and feel the love and loyalty “Pitties” are known for? Then ask to meet him today.
