The 2014 Scandinavian Festival drew crowds young and old last weekend. Held annually at Cal Lutheran University, its purpose is to “preserve and promote Scandinavian heritage and culture for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations,” according to the official website.
People travelled to Thousand Oaks from from all over Southern California to get a taste of Nordic culture. “I’ve been trying to get here for three years,” said Carol Oehler of Palmdale. “I wanted to get some good lefse.”
