Enjoying the balmy winter weather? Don’t put away your jackets and umbrellas just yet. Stormy weather with significant rainfall is expected to hit the region this week, according to the National Weather Service.
A major Friday-into-Saturday weather system will be preceded on Wednesday by a much smaller cold front, and the second storm will likely be the strongest the area has experienced in quite some time, according to the NWS.
Rainfall amounts could be very impressive with early estimates of one to two inches for coastal and valley areas and two to four inches in the foothills and mountains, the NWS reports.
