A FULL MOON occurs on Friday, December 25, 2015, at 3:11 AM PST.
For those of you who leave your holiday lights turned on overnight on Christmas Eve so Santa can find your house, you don’t need to this year. The Moon’s silvery light will bathe the Earth on Christmas for the first time since 1977 and will not again until 2034.
This illumination is a great time for reflection between your conscious and subconscious minds. Since this is the last full moon of 2015, and so close to the end of the year, it is the perfect time to take a personal inventory and accounting.
On Friday morning, the Full Moon occurs as the Cancer Moon exactly opposes the Capricorn Sun. The Cancer-Capricorn polarity deals with the balance between issues on the home front, private life, and emotions (Cancer) versus public life, career, reputation and responsibility (Capricorn). Emotional attachments and love are ruled by watery Cancer, while actions and consequences are ruled by earthy Capricorn. Since the Full Moon tends to heighten emotions anyway, and water sign Cancer is ruled by the moon, this could be an extremely emotional weekend. Fortunately if emotions do run high, Capricorn will keep everyone fairly grounded.
So how do we use this energy and what exactly do we take in to account during this period? Appreciate more of what we have this Christmas on an emotional level and release old patterns and habits that no longer serve us. What about your own behavior irritated you in 2015? Sit down and begin forming your New Year’s intentions. Yes, intentions, not resolutions! Maternal Cancer gives us a true sense of value and paternal Capricorn pushes us to grow up.
If we acknowledge our feelings and make a commitment to self-improvement on Friday, we will have an emotionally abundant and fruitful Christmas and we will get off to a good start for the New Year.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,
