Weekend Guide: Pumpkin Festivals, Rec Fest and a Zumbathon Fundraiser

Weekend Guide IconSo much fun, so little time! Here are our Happening’s picks for the weekend and as always, don’t forget to check out our calendar daily for lots of fresh ideas. 

 

 

Friday

Teen Haunted Maze and Movie Night at Malibu Bluffs Park: Have a frightful night of haunts will take over Malibu Bluffs Park, 24250 Pacific Coast Highway, at the Youth Commission’s 6th Annual Haunted Maze and Movie Night from 5-9 p.m.

Live Entertainment at The Lakes at Thousand Oaks: Enjoy free live entertainment at The Lakes at Thousand Oaks on Friday nights through Oct. 30th from 6-9 p.m.

St. Paschal Baylon Fall Fest in Thousand Oaks: There will be carnival rides, carnival games, concessions, sweets, performances, wine and cheese tasting, live jazz, auction, car raffle and much more!

16th Annual Reign of Terror Haunted House: During the Reign of Terror the ticket office opens daily at 6 p.m. in the Janss Food Courtyard. General admission is $17, with VIP $25 admission tickets, for front of line access, available at the box office only.

 

Saturday

Fall Harvest Festival at Underwood Farms: October 24 & 25 is Western Weekend – from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be stunt ropers, a covered wagon, music, magic and much more! At 3 p.m., the cowboys ride off, but the festival continues until 6 p.m. with music, games, rides, races and tons of family fun.

Rec Fest 2015 at Paramount Ranch: Want to enjoy the Santa Monica Mountains but don’t know where to start? Come out to our RecFest and introduce the family to all sorts of fun outdoor activities!

Zumbathon Fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Tri-Counties in Agoura Hills:Zumbathon® registration is $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Click to purchase now! The pre-event community fair and registration starts at 12:30. Dance Yerba Buena Elementary School benefiting Make-A-Wish Tri-Counties is from 2-4:30 p.m.

‘Halloween Pumpkin Party’ at Leonis Adobe Museum: Come and celebrate Halloween at the Leonis Adobe, 23537 Calabasas Road, CA, 91302, on Saturday, October 24thfrom 1-4 p.m. Kids may dress up in costumes for a fun filled afternoon. Enjoy Halloween crafts and pumpkins, family music by Craig Newton, and feed the ranch animals.

Pumpkin Fest at Christ the King Church Newbury Park:There will be free carnival games, bounce house, rock wall, snacks, face painting and more. Admission is free.

Zombies to Invade Cal Lutheran Campus for “Thrill the World”: The public is invited to dance to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” during Thrill The World Thousand Oaks, one of hundreds of synchronized performances held annually throughout the world. All participants are tallied in an effort to set world records for the largest simultaneous dance.

A Night to Benefit AYSO Region 71: The benefit takes place at the Performing Arts Education Center at Calabasas High School, 22855 W. Mulholland Hwy. in Calabasas. Come see the band Midlife Crisis perform the music of Van Halen, Queen, AC/DC and more.

Newbury Park High School Theatre Dept Zombie Run: The Zombie Run is a haunted-house type of event where participants run through a maze while being followed by student-actors portraying the “walking dead.”

“Shakespeare and the Beatles” Concert: Cool Britannia presents a surprise concert, Shakespeare and the Beatles, a fun mashup of Shakespeare’s most beloved scenes paired with Beatles music and directed by Allen Hunt. Performances are Saturday, October 24 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, October 25 at 3 p.m. at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts 403 W. Hillcrest Dr. in Thousand Oaks.

 

Sunday

Conejo Valley Community Concert & Jazz Bands: The City of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services and the City of Westlake Village are pleased to announce the fall performance of the Conejo Valley Community Concert & Jazz Bands.
