Weekend Guide: Concert for Sam, Winter Carnival and Friendship Walk

Weekend Guide IconSo much fun, so little time!   Here are our Happening’s picks for the weekend and as always, don’t forget to check out our calendar daily for lots of fresh ideas. 




Music in Motion: Fun, musically rewarding and motivating class for babies, toddlers, and their parents.Classes are held every Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Agoura Hills Library.

Creatures of the Night Hike at Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa: Take a 1.5 mile hike with a ranger to discover which animals come out at dusk. Bring a flashlight.

Bryan Lazar Presents “Concert For Sam” featuring Special Guests: The Canyon Club will present a “Concert For Sam,” a tribute for the late Sam Levine of Oak Park, who tragically passed away last March.  The event will be hosted by Levine’s dear friend Bryan Lazar, and will feature some of the area’s most prominent musicians along with special guests to perform as well.Tickets are $10 and all proceeds will be donated to a charitable fund in Sam’s name.



Oak Park Neighborhood School Winter Carnival: The snow is back in Oak Park! Don’t miss your chance to sled down the slopes. There will be a silent auction to bid on tons of goods and services from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is $5, kids; $3 Adults; children under 2, free. Admission provides unlimited access to the snow and bouncers.

Vegans in Paradise Class at the Agoura Hills Library: Vegans in Paradise presents Zel Allen and her Vegan recipes and food samples. The class runs from 1-4 p.m. but you must register at the Agoura Hills Library. Call 818-889-2278 for more information.

Boogie Knights at the Canyon Club: Take a dancing trip back to the disco era with this wacky band. Showtime is at 10 p.m.


‘Skeeto’ Faire in Westlake Village: The community is invited to attend a “Skeeto” Faire – to learn about the United Methodist Church’s Imagine No Malaria Campaign created in 2008 – from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. 

9th Annual Friendship Walk in Agoura Hills:  The event is sponsored by the Friendship Circle of Agoura Hills, a non-profit organization which provides programming for children with special needs and their families.  Registration begins at 11 a.m. and the event starts at 12 p.m. with the opening ceremony and pep rally, followed by a 5K walk starting at Willow Elementary School, 29026 Laro Drive, Agoura Hills. A variety of family oriented activities, refreshments and entertainment will be available until 3:30 p.m.

Conejo Valley Community Concert and Jazz Band Concert in Agoura Hills: The Conejo Valley Community Concert and Jazz Band will hold its Spring concert at 4 p.m. at Lindero Canyon Middle School, located at 5844 Larboard Lane in Agoura Hills.
