Friday

 

2nd Annual Dance For Drew Benefit: Dance for a good cause at the 2nd Annual Dance for Drew benefit concert, Friday, October 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks (99 Rolling Oaks Dr.). The evening will feature dance music from classic and pop rock band Full House, food, drinks, a raffle and a silent auction. All funds raised will go towards the Drew Perez Scholarship Fund benefiting local students, high schools and Rotary Club of Newbury Park charitable causes. CLU Founders Day Concert to Feature Music from ‘Schindler’s List’Music from “Schindler’s List” will form the centerpiece of California Lutheran University’s Founders Day Concert on Friday, Oct. 17. The University Symphony will perform at 7:30 p.m. in Samuelson Chapel on the Thousand Oaks campus. The concert is free, but donations will be accepted. 15th Annual Reign of Terror Haunted House: The Reign of Terror ticket office in the Janss food courtyard area will open daily at 6 p.m. on the Haunted House dates. Tickets can also be purchased at participating Janss Marketplace store. Visit www.janssmarketplace.net for merchant ticket locations and list of special Janss Marketplace shopping and dining offers for ticket holders. Admission is $17 ($25 for express pass). 

 

 Saturday

Fall Harvest Festival at Underwood FarmsUnderwood Family Farms’ 17th Annual Fall Harvest Festival in Moorpark is September 27th through October 31st. As in past years, the 2014 festival will be open from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Admission is $15 on Saturdays and Sundays and $3 per person Monday through Friday. Children under 2 are free! Free parking.

 National Park Service to Host Inaugural Bird Fest Event in Calabasas: Bird Fest, an inaugural event featuring a host of free activities, will be held Saturday, October 18th from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Santa Monica Mountains Interagency Visitor Center. Bird enthusiasts and newbies alike are invited to celebrate all things bird. 

Calabasas Pumpkin Festival: The festival runs for two days, Oct. 18-19, at Juan de Anza Park in Calabasas from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5 and children under two are free. There will be free parking and shuttles.  

Triunfo YMCA Goblin Gallop: The Triunfo Y Goblin Gallop 5K Run and 1-Mile Fun Run is part of the afternoon and evening Westlake Village City Celebration. The City Celebration, now in its 12th year, features a Fun Fair benefitting the White Oak Elementary School PFC. 

New West Symphony Opens 20th Anniversary Concert Season: Tickets priced from $29 to $102 are available by phone, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday at 1-866-776-8400.  Tickets are also available in person at the New West Symphony office, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and through the Symphony web site at newwestsymphony.org, 24/7.   Tickets are also available at the respective concert hall box offices.

Ghost Tours at Strathearn Park in Simi Valley: Ghost Tours at Strathearn Park, 137 Strathearn Place, Simi Valley are back again this October! Tours are limited to 20-25 people. Admission: $10 for adults, $8 for ages 6 to 10 and no charge for children under 5. Tours last approximately 1 1/2 hours. Tours will start every 15 minutes.
