Weekend Guide: Scandinavian Festival, Mountain Lion Hike and Arbor/Earth Day Celebration

Friday

Music in Motion: Fun, musically rewarding and motivating class for babies, toddlers, and their parents.Classes are held every Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Agoura Hills Library.

Pumpkin Patch Story Time: The Children’s Librarian reads, sings and entertains children during this half hour story time at the Calabasas Library. For ages 0-3.

The Dan Band at the Canyon Club: What started as a drunken joke for Dan Finnerty singing “I Am Woman” at a karaoke bar has spiraled out of control into THE DAN BAND – a cult phenomenon that has garnered rave reviews. The show starts at 9 p.m. Click here for tickets.

 

 Saturday

Big Cats of the Mountains Hike at Santa Monica Mountains Visitor Center: Learn about elusive mountain lions on this 1 mile hike. Find out how researchers track these cats and hear the stories of birth, life and death of the animals. Meet at the fountain at 10:30 a.m. at the Santa Monica Mountains Interagency Visitor Center.

Scandinavian Festival 2014: Head over to one of the largest Nordic festivals in western USA. Scanfest ‘14 is an exciting two-day outdoor event in beautiful Kingsmen Park on the campus of California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.

17th Annual Thousand Oaks Arbor/Earth Day Celebration: This zero-waste Festival will feature a host of exhibitors who will provide tips and products to help families to “Go Green.” The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Conejo Creek Park, 1379 E. Janss Road in Thousand Oaks, part of a City of Thousand Oaks 50th Anniversary event.

McCrea Ranch Tour and Matinee in Thousand Oaks: The Conejo Community Center/Outdoor Unit of the Conejo Recreation & Park District will be offering The McCrea Ranch Tour and Matinee from 1-4 p.m. at the McCrea Ranch Visitors Center in Thousand Oaks.

 

Sunday 

Ride Stage 8 of the 2014 Amgen Tour of California at L’Étape du California: L’Étape du California provides serious recreational cyclists the opportunity to ride a complete stage of the Amgen Tour of California. Riders will cover the same route as the professionals on Stage 8 of the Amgen Tour of California in Thousand Oaks.

Scandinavian Festival 2014: Head over to one of the largest Nordic festivals in western USA. Scanfest ‘14 is an exciting two-day outdoor event in beautiful Kingsmen Park on the campus of California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.

Westlake Rotary Street Faire: This year, the Rotary Club of Westlake Village’s Community Street Festival and the Westlake 5K/10K Run/Walk for Global Water will be held on Sunday April 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This festive event brings families together to enjoy live music, food vendors and craft displays, while providing financial support to worthwhile local charities.

Dark Star Orchestra at the Canyon Club: Enjoy this popular Grateful Dead tribute band. Show time is 8 p.m.
