Weekend Guide: Screenwriter Film Festival, Country Time Faire and Voices of Old Conejo

Friday

Music in Motion at the Agoura Hills Library: Fun, musically rewarding and motivating class for babies, toddlers, and their parents.

“The Greatest Movies Ever Written” Film Festival in Agoura Hills: The festival will take place Friday, September 25 and Saturday, 26. Program highlights include a VIP opening reception on Friday evening followed by all-day Saturday screenings and Q & A’s with the screenwriters.

Saxomania Performs at CLU in Thousand Oaks: Saxomania will perform a range of music from classical to jazz at 7:30 p.m. at California Lutheran University.

Loverboy at the Canyon Club: Show time is 9 p.m.

Aloha Beach Festival: The 11th Annual Aloha Beach Festival takes place at Promenade Park/Surfer’s Point, west of the Historic Ventura Pier. The festival will feature freestyle frisbee and K9 frisbee competitions, surfing and outrigger canoe competitions and all day live music at the Aloha Stage.

St. Jude’s Country Time Faire & Carnival: St. Jude the Apostle Church will host its annual Country Time Faire and Carnival from 3-10 p.m. Sat., Sept. 26 and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sun., Sept. 27 at the church, located at 32032 Lindero Canyon Rd, Westlake Village.The event will have carnival rides, children’s games, marketplace boutique, silent auction and casino games.

Kids Fun Zone at Janss Marketplace: The Kids Fun Zone craft events meets the last Saturday of every month from 12-3 p.m. at the Janss Marketplace.

Play With LEGOs at the Thousand Oaks Library: Kids can build their own LEGO creations

Voices of Old Conejo 1958 Living History Show at Stagecoach Inn Museum: Equal parts history lesson and theater, “Voices of Old Conejo 1958″ takes audiences down memory lane of the Conejo Valley in the 1950’s. This is an entertaining and educational production airing all new scenes this year. Take a walk back in time to 1958 and meet some of the trailblazers that developed the Conejo Valley into the beautiful place it is to live today.

4th Annual 5K Walk/Hike for Mesothelioma Research: The Pacific Meso Center at the Pacific Heart, Lung & Blood Institute will hold its fourth annual 5K Walk/Hike for Meso on September 27, 2015, Mesothelioma Awareness Day, at the Paramount Ranch, 2903 Cornell Rd. With the previous year’s success of 260 participants and over $100,000 raised, PMC hopes to increase participation this year with additional prizes and fun activities for the whole family. PMC’s mission is to find better treatments for malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM), an asbestos-related form of cancer that affects almost 3,000 people in the US each year, one third of whom are veterans.

Cruise Camarillo Old Town Car Show: Cruise into Old Town Camarillo on the fourth Sunday of each month from April thru October for Camarillo Sunday Cruise. This monthly car show brings together classic vehicles, food & live music.
