Weekend Guide: ‘The Mikado: Anime,’ New West Symphony and Los Lobos

Music in Motion at the Agoura Hills Library: Fun, musically rewarding and motivating class for babies, toddlers, and their parents. Classes are held every Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Agoura Hills Library.

Cal Lutheran Faculty Recital in Thousand OaksTwo California Lutheran University faculty members will present a recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, in Samuelson Chapel. “Borrowed Gems” will feature Michael Hart performing works that were originally intended for other instruments on the tuba and euphonium. Eric Kinsley will play piano. The program includes Antonio Capuzzi’s Concerto for Double Bass, Richard Strauss’s Horn Concerto and Johann Hummel’s Trumpet Concerto.

Curtain Call Youth Theatre “The Mikado: Anime” in Agoura HillsCurtain Call Youth Theatre in association with the City of Agoura Hills is proud to present The Mikado: Anime, a unique and create re-staging of Gilbert & Sullivan’s comic operetta starring the teens of the Conejo Valley. Performances take place at The Agoura Performing Arts Center 1/22-1/24 at 8 p.m. and 1/25 at 4 p.m.

Headcat at the Canyon Club: The rockabilly group performs at 9 p.m.





Master Gardener Program at Westlake Village LibraryMaster Gardener Program is for ages 10 and up. Join master gardener Tony Hepton for an informative lecture on both native and tropical plants. Mr. Hepton helped to create the beautiful garden in front of the Goebel Adult Center.

Clothes and Shoe Drive Jan. 24 hosted by Conejo Players and Angel Bins: Conejo Players Theatre will be collecting gently-used clothes and shoes on Jan. 24, 2015 from 10AM-2PM at 351 South Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.
