Weekend Guide: Tribute to Innovation, American Folk Music Fest and Canine Classic

Friday

Music in Motion: Fun, musically rewarding and motivating class for babies, toddlers, and their parents. Classes are held every Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Agoura Hills Library.

Pumpkin Patch Story Time: Pumpkin Patch Story Time is a program offered by the Calabasas Public Library.The Children’s Librarian reads, sings and entertains children during this half hour story time. For ages 0-3.

Lisa Lampanelli at the Canyon Club: Lisa Lampanelli is comedy’s lovable “Queen of Mean.” Heralded as “more than a standup – a standout,” by comedy legend Jim Carrey, Lampanelli is a cross between Don Rickles, Archie Bunker and a vial of estrogen. Showtime is 9 p.m. Click here for ticket information.

 

 Saturday

One City, One Book Tribute to Innovation: The program will begin with a Day of Innovation at the Agoura Hills City Hall & Community Room on from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. with a lecture by Dave Power at 1 p.m.  There will be innovative kids activities, demonstrations on illustration, a car show, live art, kids recommendations for the future, plus hot dogs! 

Pee Wee Deputy Program: The City of Agoura Hills along with the Lost Hills Sheriff Deputies are hosting our “Pee Wee Deputy” program this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Lost Hills Sheriff Department in Calabasas. Pee Wee Deputy is for ages 3-5, and the children will spend the morning going through the life of a sheriffs deputy. They will tour the station, sit in the helicopter, meet the K-9 dogs and more.

American Folk Music Fest & Casino Night: Enjoy two days of music, entertainment and refreshments at the Leonis Adobe in Calabasas! On Saturday, Casino Night will feature Texas Hold’Em and Blackjack with dinner, entertainment and raffle prizes.  Click here for the full line-up.

Marc Cohn at the Canyon Club: The Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter combines the precision of a brilliant tunesmith with the passion of a great soul man. Hits include “Walking In Memphis,” “Silver Thunderbird,” “True Companion.” Show time is at 9 p.m. Click here for ticket information.

Sunday   Happy Easter!

American Folk Music Fest & Casino Night: Enjoy two days of music, entertainment and refreshments at the Leonis Adobe in Calabasas! On Saturday, Casino Night will feature Texas Hold’Em and Blackjack with dinner, entertainment and raffle prizes.  Click here for the full line-up.

Canine Classic Dog Walk & Festival: This fun, annual event takes place at Juan Bautista de Anza Park, 3701 Lost Hills Rd, Calabasas, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Admission is free. Click here for more information.

Dog Walk in Malibu benefits Homeless Animals at the Agoura Animal Shelter: Take your dog for a walk in Malibu at beautiful Legacy Park, 23500 Civic Center Way. The event, sponsored by Malibu Coast Animal Hospital, is from 2-5  and benefits Healthcare for Homeless Animals (HHA)–formerly Malibu Pet Companions–funding medical care for homeless pets at the Agoura Animal Shelter since 1998.

Crystal Bowersox at the Canyon Club: The singer offers an amalgam of blues, country, folk and rock makes her one of the most dynamic young voices in music to come along in years. Showtime is at 9 p.m. Click here for ticket information.
