Are you looking for a fun and patriotic activity on the morning of July 4th? Residents of all ages are invited to participate in the 45th Annual Westlake Village Fourth of July Parade. A full morning of activities is planned with a pancake breakfast that begins at 8 a.m. The parade begins at the former hospital site at 9:45 a.m.
The parade follows a short four-block route to Berniece Bennett Park. located in the First Neighborhood of Westlake Village. Residents are also encouraged to line the parade route along Agoura Road between Lakeview Canyon Road and Greengate Court to cheer on participants as they stroll along. Veterans and members of the military are encouraged to participate and lead the parade.
Once the parade concludes at the park, residents are treated to a dramatic U.S. Flag Retirement Ceremony performed by Boy Scout Troop #485. After the ceremony, residents can enjoy free inflatable activities, a stilt walker, old fashioned park games, photo booth, face painting, crafts and music. Free popsicles and water will be distributed and the Rotary Club of Westlake Village will be selling hot dogs for $1. The event ends at 12 p.m.
The fun continues into the evening as the City is co-sponsoring a new fireworks show in cooperation with the Westlake Village Inn and the Westlake Village Golf Course. The Inn, Golf Course, and Calvary Community Church will all be hosting Independence Day activities, parking, and viewing parties.
All three locations will be selling various food and dinner items. As the fireworks will reach altitudes of 500 feet above the golf course, residents may want to consider hosting a barbecue or block party prior to enjoying the display. The fireworks show will be at 9 p.m. and last for 18 minutes. Please note the Westlake Village Golf Course will be closed to the public during the fireworks show.
