For teens from 13 to 18 years, the Teen Summer Reading Bingo begins Monday, June 15th. Keep track of your summer reading and enter to win a cinch bag of books. Teens can pick up a bingo card at the library information desk.
The newly formed 20/30 Somethings Book Club meets on Wednesday, June 17th, at 6:30 p.m. to discuss I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Agoura Hills Library.
“Social Security & Medicare” will be discussed by a representative from the Social Security Administration. This is a unique opportunity to ask questions related to both Social Security and Medicare. The program is Saturday, June 13th, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
“Read to the Rhythm” is a series of Adult Art Programs sponsored by Los Angeles County this summer. The first program is scheduled for Monday, June 22nd, at 6:30 p.m. and will be on the art of Cross Stitching. On Wednesday, June 24th, also at 6:30 p.m., participants can create a musical note paper wreath that is perfect for any occasion.
Are you cleaning out books this summer? Why not donate them to the Friends of the Agoura Hills Library and benefit from a charitable tax deduction because the Friends are a 501(c ) organization. Donating is easy. Just bring your used books to the Library. You can drop them off on Saturdays at the Book Cellar in the basement of the Library or you may bring them to the Agoura Hills Library during any regular business hours. Library staff will be happy to assist you. Donations are always welcome. All proceeds are used to support library programs in Agoura Hills and to purchase new materials. You can even arrange to have a large collection picked up by one of the “Friends” by calling (818) 584 7219.
The Agoura Hills Library is open six days a week: Monday – Wednesday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., Thursday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Friday – Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The Book Cellar is open every Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
