April 5, 2016 marks the 25th anniversary of cityhood for the City of Calabasas. We hope you will come out and celebrate with us!
Kicking off the celebrations will be a Mayoral Luncheon on Tuesday, April 5 at 11:30 a.m. Mayor Bozajian will be highlighting the City’s 25th Anniversary and taking a look back at the last twenty-five years. The cost is $40 for Chamber members and seniors, $45 for non-members, and $50 at the door. The cost includes the meal. The luncheon will be held at the Calabasas Country Club, 4515 Park Entrada. The Calabasas Library, in conjunction with the Calabasas – Las Virgenes Historical Society, is also hosting a series of events for the celebration.
- On Thursday, April 7, stop by the Calabasas Library at 6:30 p.m. Many of the City’s founders will be sharing stories and memoriesof the incorporation of the City of Calabasas. Mayor Bozajian will serve as Moderator of the event.
- On Wednesday, April 20, the Film Fanatics Group will be hosting a screening of Pursued, starring Robert Mitchum and Teresa Wright. It was released in 1947 and filmed in the Calabasas area. Brian Rooney, author of Three Magical Miles will give a presentation on the history of local movie sets.
- Meet the Fifth Beatle at the Library on Thursday, April 28 at 6:30 p.m.! Vince Calandra, who worked at the Ed Sullivan Show and stood in for George Harrison during the show’s Beatles’ rehearsals, will talk about that historic television event and share rare photographs.
