With Conejo Valley Days (CVD) falling on Mother’s Day this year (May 10), the festival is holding a Mother’s Day essay contest with the winner, mother and immediate family treated to free entry, rides and food on Mother’s Day.
Entrants must be in grades three through five and write an easy on “Why my mom is the best mom in the whole world and one important lesson she has taught me.” Essays must be between 100 and 250 words. The submission deadline is April 20. The winner will be notified on April 24 by 5 p.m.
The winner and immediate family members (mom, dad and up to four siblings) will receive CVD entry passes, unlimited rides wristbands and vouchers for food at any CVD food court vendor.
Entries must include the entrant’s telephone number and can be submitted by mail: CVD/Essay Contest, 501-I Reino Road, #282, Newbury Park 91320, by email: [email protected] with “CVD Essay” in the subject line. Conejo Valley Days will be held May 7 through May 10 at Conejo Creek Park South in Thousand Oaks. CVD hours are Thursday, May 7, 5-10 p.m., Friday, May 8, 5 p.m. to midnight, Saturday, May 9, noon to midnight and Sunday, May 10, 12-8 p.m. The Pet Central Education and Welfare Foundation is the nonprofit partner for this year’s Conejo Valley Days. In addition, more than 30 local nonprofit groups participate in CVD each year, raising money that is invested back into the community.
