A standing-room only crowd packed the Agoura Hills Recreation & Event Center to watch legendary performer Dick Van Dyke, 90, sing, dance and tell stories Friday night. The actor-turned bestselling author took center stage as part of the city’s One City One Book event, celebrating his latest work Keep Moving and Other Tips and Truths About Aging.
With upbeat titled chapters like “Dancing With Your Inner Child” and “Sit or Get Off the Pot Roast,” Keep Moving offers sage yet down-to-earth advice to which seniors will relate. Of all of his tips, one that stands out to Van Dyke: “Don’t ever go down the stairs sideways; it throws off the hips and back and that’s the beginning of real trouble.”
