Early signups are being taken for the Conejo Valley YMCA’s Camp Sequoia Lake. The camp takes place August 1-8.
Sequoia Lake is located just outside Sequoia National Park. It is for kids entering fourth grade through high school. Camp activities are based on age. Campers take part in adventure courses, canoeing, fishing, lake swimming, archery, rock climbing and arts and crafts. There are campfires, dances, slideshows and the Y’s rag and leather motivational and rewards program.
The cost of camp is $670 per camper, which includes transportation, all program activities and meals. “We started registration early so families can plan ahead for camp,” said Zak Howell, the Y’s Away Camp and Youth & Government director. “We are offering a monthly payment plan. Scholarships are also available.”
