The Event for Las Virgenes Schools is Back!

The Event

Last year’s event was a sell-out, bringing in $250,000 for The Foundation.

The Event will take place at the Calabasas Tennis and Swim Center on June 7 from 5-11 p.m. All proceeds raised will benefit The Foundation for Las Virgenes Schools, according to Deanna Glassberg, foundation president and event co-chair. “I love The Event because it brings our community together unlike any other event,” she said. “Many of us moved here for the schools and when I see so many parents, community members and local business coming out to support our kids and our schools it warms my heart.”

Last year’s fundraiser brought in $250,000, Glassberg said.

Patrons had an opportunity to bid on hundreds of fun items at last year’s silent auction.

Once again, guests will have the opportunity to sample cuisine from such local restaurants as Brent’s Deli, Gladstones, Roy’s, Umami Burger as well as sample wines from labels like Silver Oak, Bevan Cellars and Tercero. New this year will be a live concert performance by Foo Fighters’ drummer Taylor Hawkins and his band Chevy Metal. The festivities will also include the popular silent and live auctions.

“The benefits of this single night are far-reaching and impactful,” said Lesli Stein, LVUSD school board president.

Tables of 10 are currently on sale at which patrons can enjoy the night’s entertainment with fine wine and gourmet cheeses. Glassberg recommends purchasing your tables early as they are expecting another sellout crowd. General admission tickets provide open festival bleacher seating and will be available for $175 each on April 15. Visit for more information and to watch a video of last year’s event.
