Public Forum to Address Accidental Poisoning of Pets and Wildlife
March 13, 2014 @ 6:00 pm - March 16, 2014 @ 8:00 pm
The City of Calabasas will be holding an educational forum at the Calabasas Founders Hall on Thursday, March 13 from 6-8 p.m. addressing the risks associated with the use of anticoagulant rodenticides (more commonly known as rat poison) to control rodents. The use of these baits has injured and killed numerous wild animals and pets.
On September, the Calabasas City Council adopted Resolution No. 2013-1379 urging businesses in Calabasas to no longer use or sell anticoagulant rodenticides, and urging all property owners to cease purchasing or using anticoagulant rodenticides on their properties in Calabasas.
Learn how to protect your wildlife neighbors and pets from accidental poisoning. Five panel members will be speaking about pros and cons of anticoagulant rodenticides and non-chemical pest control methods.
