‘Under a Starry Sky’ at Emmanuel Church Thousand Oaks
December 11, 2016 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
Emmanuel Church in Thousand Oaks is hosting a church-wide event at 5 p.m. when the Elation Arts Series presents “Under a Starry Sky” in the sanctuary at 588 Camino Manzanas.
Created by Joel Lindsey and Jeff Bumgardner, the show features the Emmanuel Christmas Choir and numerous congregants who will offer their dramatic talent as they act out the story of Melody and Travis, a young couple with two children who are struggling and in need of a savior to point them in the right direction. The journey takes the viewer between current day USA and Bethlehem 2000 years ago, offering a glimpse of the baby who would grow up to save the world.
Guest artist Christi Ebenhoch will perform the main character, Melody, who wrestles with her reality while longing for a Christmas that she can’t have. Ebenhoch has been performing professionally since elementary school where she sang for Maranatha Music on their children’s projects. While attending Azusa Pacific University where she majored in vocal performance Ebenhoch toured with Warner Brothers recording artist Tia Carerra.
During her college years, Ebenhoch began recording for Word, Sparrow and Frontline Music with various Christian artists. She sings for Wartime Radio Revue, a 16-piece swing orchestra, and tours with Bobby Caldwell and John Tesh. She records for numerous TV and film projects, as well as jingles for several production houses. Ebenhoch lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two children.
Numerous members, adults and children, will participate in the drama. The Emmanuel Christmas Choir will be accompanied by an orchestra, and the church’s men’s ensemble will perform. The program is free and open to the public.
Childcare for children four and under will be provided. If interested, call the church office at 805-498-4502 to reserve childcare. For more information on the concert or the Elation Arts Series, call Lance Merrill during the week at the church office.
