In addition to participating in group exercise classes and individual workouts, moms can take part in health events during the month of May. On Wednesday, May 14 at 11 a.m., moms can attend the Y’s “Mindful Meditation Series,” which will focus on becoming happier in day-to-day life. On Saturday, May 16 at 10 a.m., moms can take part in a 50-minute yoga classed followed by a dark chocolate tasting. On Friday, May 29 at noon, a healthy skin seminar will be held at Remedy Skin & Body (3723 Thousand Oaks Blvd.) so moms can learn how to keep their skin looking its best.
“We wanted to do something special for moms beyond celebrating Mother’s Day,” said Kara Kaplan, healthy living and aquatics director at the Miller Y. “Moms can also swim and join in the aquatics classes.”
