Christmas Tree Lighting & Parades
Nov. 28-Dec. 10 Magical Holiday Lights Thousand Oaks
Enjoy a nightly interactive 3D/musical holiday show at Janss Marketplace from 6-8 p.m.
Dec. 5 Santa Barbara Holiday Parade, Santa Barbara
This year’s event features Alan Thicke as grand marshal. Festivities will include marching bands, holiday floats, and the annual arrival of Santa Claus. Starts at 6:30 p.m.
Dec. 5 Oxnard Tree Lighting, Oxnard
Watch the tallest Christmas tree–over 110 feet–light up the night sky. There will be live entertainment, refreshments and a visit from Santa Clause. Starts at 5:30 p.m.
Dec. 5 Holiday Tree Lighting, Ventura
Countdown to the lighting of the pines at the historic mission with caroling, a snowfall and a visit from Santa. Starts at 5 p.m.
Dec 5-Jan. 4 Winter Fantasy Musical Light Show, Oxnard
The historic Pagoda becomes a high-tech interactive experience allowing visitors to participate in a spectacular computer-orchestrated show featuring over 30,000 flashing colored lights, holiday music, animated characters and lit trees. From 5-10 p.m.
Dec. 6 Oxnard Tamale Festival, Oxnard
Get the tastiest tamales in town. Learn tamale making with live demos. Enjoy the tamale eating contest, holiday crafts fair, kids activities, and music from CHICO and TIERRA. Starts at 9 a.m.
Dec. 6 Oxnard Christmas Parade, Oxnard
This year’s theme is “Surf, Sand & Celebrating the Season.” Take he family to enjoy colorful marching bands, equestrian units, local school groups, spirited floats and a visit from Santa. The Parade route is A, 5th and C Streets in Downtown Oxnard. Starts at 10 a.m.
Dec. 12 & 13 Holiday Parade of Lights and Fireworks, Ventura Harbor
Enjoy Winter Wonderland festivities, live reindeer, crafts, holiday shopping, Santa & snow. Then following fireworks enjoy a parade of lights on the water. Winter Wonderland is from 1-5 p.m.; parade starts at 6:30 p.m.
Dec. 13 Camarillo Christmas Parade, Camarillo
Spend the day enjoying classic automobiles, decorated floats and entertainment. Starts at 10 a.m.
Dec. 13 Parade of Lights Channel Islands, Harbor Oxnard
There will be snow play and a meet & greet with Santa and Mrs. Claus from 12-4 p.m. Bring the kids for arts & crafts, food vendors & live entertainment. The parade will feature dancing lights across the water. Starts at 7 p.m.
Dec. 14-25 Christmas Tree Lane, Oxnard
Stroll or drive through this holiday light display in the Henry T. Oxnard National Historic District.
Hanukkah Menorah Lighting and Events
Gather in the lobby of the Four Seasons Hotel at 5 p.m. for a nightly menorah lighting and blessing.
Dec. 21 Glow in the Dark Chanukah Celebration, Moorpark
The Moorpark Chabad Jewish Center’s 7th annual Chanukah Celebration will take place in the Vons Shopping Center, 4219 Tierra Rejada Rd. with glow in the dark menorah, fire acrobatic show, food, music and games. From 4-5:30 p.m.
