Iconic 80’s Film Star to Host ‘Better Off Dead’ Screening and Discussion Fundraiser for Agoura High’s ComedySportz Team

Better_Off_Dead 2Cult comedy film actress and current Agoura High School ComedySportz coach, Diane Franklin (aka Diane DeLaurentis), will host a screening of Better Off Dead on Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. at the Agoura High Performing Arts Education Center (PAEC). Directed by Savage Steve Holland, the iconic 80’s film stars John Cusack. Following the screening, Franklin will lead a discussion about the film. Photo opportunities and autographs will also be available.

Franklin (Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, The Last American Virgin) portrays Cusack’s love interest, the French foreign exchange student Monique. She will bring her infectious enthusiasm for the entertainment industry and lively production stories to life at this exciting event. Young actors will benefit from her candid advice. There will be a special surprise guest, too!

Copies of Franklin’s new book, Diane Franklin: The Excellent Adventures of The Last American French-Exchange Babe of the 80s will also be on hand for purchase. Her bio chronicles Franklin’s life lessons and hits all of the highlights from modeling and acting in a multitude of major national commercial campaigns to co-starring in popular feature films.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students with ID. All proceeds go to the Agoura High School Comedy Sportz Program. Tickets are available at the Box Office or online at www.thepaecs.org.
