(The following is from a press release)
Due to the massive success of Girl’s Night Out (GNO) last year featuring Finding Kind, the Cultural Arts Council will host the second GNO on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 5-10 p.m. Girls Night Out is an event where moms, daughters, best friends and all women can enjoy spending time getting primped, pampered and shopping. GNO will be a night filled with entertainment, but also the opportunity to be educated on changing the game of “body image.”
Katie H. Willcox is the founder and CEO of Natural Model Management and Healthy is the New Skinny. Using her 13 years of experience in the modeling industry, Willcox strives to change the game of body image by giving people the tools to challenge the beauty ideal implemented by the media. Using Healthy is the New Skinny as her platform, Willcox speaks out against harmful advertising and encourages people from all world to model healthy body image. With her first book set to release this summer, Willcox aims to educate, inform and empower girls and women to rise up against media manipulation.
The cost to attend GNO2 is $6 and includes hair/make up application, food, henna tattoos, a powerful presentation by Katie H. Willcox and much more. Guests can sign up at www.91301.org/events/gno2.
