Dave is a 10-year-old German Shepherd mix who was transferred to Agoura from another shelter with a lower adoption rate in the hopes that someone special in the Conejo Valley would see the beauty in adopting an older dog. While nothing is known about his past, what can be said is that the volunteers at the other shelter cared for him so much they had him brought here. They thought he would have a better chance of being adopted by a great forever family. Could that be with you?
Here are some things you should know about him:
- He is a super senior who is in good health.
- He walks well on leash but prefers walks that are slow and short.
- He loves to spend his time with people.
- He rides well in the car.
Since Dave has been at the shelter, he was transported to a private vet and had a senior wellness check-up where they found a low- grade heart murmur and a bit of arthritis, but other than that, his blood work was great. He was well behaved at the office and very friendly when meeting and greeting everyone. Now that says a lot, right?
All dogs need love and attention, but especially older dogs that have been abandoned. They can transform your life in unexpected ways and offer a special kind of affection to their owners. They are better able to roll with life’s ups and downs because they have experienced so much.By opening yourself up to a senior dog, your life will take on new possibilities.
If you are looking for a special boy in your life, ask to meet him today.
