UPDATE: Jack has been adopted!
Jack is a six-year-old Chihuahua/Cocker mix whose had a home of his own since he was young until the day his family brought him to the shelter. They said he needed some dental work which they couldn’t afford.
Fortunately, the caring people at Healthcare for Homeless Animals took him to a private vet where he had all his dental work completed. He had a complete cleaning and some teeth pulled and now he has a bright and shiny canine “smile.” Due to regulations, his former family could not readopt him after the nonprofit group paid for his dental care.
Here are some things you should know about Jack:
- He is good with other dogs.
- He walks well on leash.
- He is enthusiastic about going for walks around the shelter grounds.
- He also loves to sit in laps enjoying human attention.
- He is good in the car and seems to like a good joyride.
- He is the perfect size for a house, condo or apartment.
Don’t feel sorry for Jack because he is at the shelter. He was kept outside and often had to spend many hours a day alone without stimulation. He needs a loving family who wants to bring him into their lives, While he is not housebroken yet, he’s one smart guy and can learn. The volunteers will lend you a crate and give lots of advice on how to house train him so that there will be quick success.
If you are looking for a sweet and really great buddy who will make you smile from ear-to-ear, ask to meet Jack today.
