Did you know that domestic dogs do not know the danger of poisonous snakes and 15,000 dogs may be bitten by them every year? Fortunately, dogs can be taught to associate the smell of live rattlesnakes as well as alert owners to the danger as well. Mountains Restoration Trust (MRT) will be hosting a Rattlesnake Avoidance Training for Dogs on March 4, 5, and 6.
The training clinic will be led by expert Fred Presson of High on Kennels. Mr. Presson has many years of experience training dogs to avoid rattlesnakes. The training process is repeated several times to assure that your dog will understand the sight, smell and sound of a rattlesnake.
Training will be held at Headwaters Corner Masson House, 23075 Mulholland Hwy in Calabasas. Each session takes approximately one hour which includes check-in and training. There is a fee of $75. Space is limited and reservations are required.
